Dear  All,   Yesterday I put in a couple of hours splitting and stacking the wood we collected from the roadside two days previously. 15 minutes after I left this tree fell right where I had been parked.    A branch landed on the shed roof and dented it without further damage, so we are certainly well looked after.
  I was woken this morning by the sound of an exploding gas bottle, and found a house over the road on fire - rang 000 and they said it was in the next street and the Brigade was on its way.  There was a gale force wind blowing and our house downwind, so even though two big trees caught fire and the house was totally destroyed they managed to prevent it spreading.   There was no ambulance, so presumably no one was home at the time.   Exciting times we live in!    PeLoHa,   Alan


Kochani Wszyscy, Wczoraj przeznaczyłem parę godzin na rozdzielanie na części i układanie na stos drewna, które zebraliśmy z pobocza dróg dwa dni wcześniej. 15 minut po moim wyjeździe to drzewo upadło w miejsce gdzie parkowałem. Gałąź wylądowała na dachu szopy i przygniotła ją bez dalszych szkód, więc z pewnością jesteśmy pod dobrą opieką.
Dziś rano obudził mnie dźwięk wybuchającej butli z gazem, dostrzegłem, że dom nieopodal jest w ogniu-zadzwoniłem po straż, powiedziano mi że to na ulicy obok i że straż pożarna jest w drodze. Wiał bardzo silny wiatr, a nasz dom stoi po stronie nawietrznej, więc pomimo, że dwa duże drzewa zajął ogień i tamten dom został całkowicie zniszczony udało się zapobiec rozprzestrzenianiu się  ognia. Karetki nie było, więc prawdopodobnie nikogo nie było w domu w tym czasie.              Żyjemy w ekscytujących czasach!    PeLoHa, Alan
